Almost 40 years ago, my wife and I started our family and worked together to raise as best we knew how our two daughters whom we are very proud of today.  They are  grown up, married and between them have three young children of their own – Savannah is one year old; Elsie is three and Haley is eight.  The beat goes on!

Based on my perspective as a father of two daughters and now a Grandpa of three grandchildren there are a few things that I “THINK” I know for sure about helping little kids figure out who they are, where they are, and what they may become as they grow up and live in this world.

My partner, Pat Patrick, and I plan on continuing to make music for young kids as long as we can keep writing and producing songs like the ones found on our current twelve-song debut album “I Can Do Anything!” (Click here for Products page to hear song clips)

We want to produce songs for children that we believe (based on our personal experiences) can help us all as parents, grandparents, teachers and care givers have more and more “fun time” and “communication time” with the little ones in our life that we love so very much.

Please wish us luck!

Pat recently explained to me what a “blog” is and now GRANDPA’S “KID STUFF” is here on the okeydokeyrecords.com website as a place to express these personal ideas and suggested methods to help little children grow up hopefully a little stronger and happier. The site will change content every week or two, so please visit often!

“OK”, here’s the first thing as a 70 year old “Grandpa” that I believe we should do as grown-ups to help our little kids figure out who they are and where they are:

FROM THE TIME WE SEE A BABY IN IT’S MOTHER’S ARMS ‘TIL WE HEAR THE TIN CANS RATTLING BEHIND THEIR WEDDING LIMO AS IT DEPARTS THE CHURCH, WE MUST ALL AND ALWAYS GIVE THAT ABSOLUTELY AWESOME AND UNIQUE HUMAN BEING A HUGE “SMILE”…A BIG ”THUMBS UP”…A LOVING “TOUCH”…AND…NEVER FAIL TO “CALL THEM BY THEIR NAME”—FULL NAME IS EVEN BETTER!!!

CHILDREN WHO ARE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GROW UP IN AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THEIR IDENTITY AND VERY EXISTENCE IS NOT CONSISTENTLY AND LOVINGLY REINFORCED BY THE GROWN-UPS AROUND THEM CAN GO THROUGH THEIR WHOLE LIFE NOT FULLY KNOWING WHO THEY ARE AND THEIR BEHAVIOR IN MANY AREAS OF THEIR LIFE WILL REFLECT AN ONGOING AND USUALLY DYSFUNCTIONAL ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES AND FIND OUT WHERE AND HOW THEY FIT INTO THE WORLD AROUND THEM.

           -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whew!  Sorry I shouted above but I sometimes get into this “kid’s stuff”!

Please click here for the Products page and scroll down and listen to the “I Can Do Anything!” song “Please!” which was written as a plea from children to grown-ups to do what this blog is suggesting.

Also, while you’re there on the Products page, Pat and I recommend (and will appreciate) your investing $12.99 plus S/H to purchase and play the complete “I Can Do Anything!” album for the entire family!

Thanks for “blogging” with Okey Dokey!
